Setting the standard for information sharing and collaborative research
- Needed an inaugural report for an established brand
- Didn’t have an in-house go-to designer
- The content was very data-heavy with no strong visuals to tell an engaging story

CECP Global Exchange (GX) is an international network of leading organizations committed to advancing the corporate sector as a force for good around the world. With partners in 15+ countries, the GX is building a body of knowledge on locally relevant corporate best practices through information sharing and collaborative research.
The GX needed to produce its first-ever publication on Environmental, Social, and Corporate Governance (ESG). We needed to design a report that highlights how companies from all around the world integrate ESG considerations in their internal strategies and how they strive to have an evermore positive impact.
At our kickoff meeting, we discussed their brand and audience, as well as what success would look like. CECP had an established brand and robust style guide that provided us with a great foundation for creative exploration. But we wanted to allow for a sense of uniqueness to this report for two reasons.
First, this was the inaugural report for the GX network. We wanted it to stand out and become a reference and keepsake for advocates and practitioners of ESG, as well as company partners. Second, we wanted to design a report that was bright and engaging since oftentimes formal and data-driven content can be tiresome to read.
The heart of the design was inspired by the report itself. Specifically the focus areas Diversity & Inclusion, Healthy Lifestyles, Future of Work, Human Rights and Culture & Arts. These became the inspiration for an abstract illustration for the cover, where each area was represented as an icon. This bright conceptual approach was used throughout the report and enabled me to create engaging custom icons, infographics, 20+ charts, and three world maps.
